Celebrity Gossip!

Now this isn’t a celebgoss blog BUT I thought this story was definitely worth informing you about.

Britney Spears will be the new judge on US Xfactor. Personally, I am neither here nor there on this, but it will of course make great viewing.

The reason I thought it was such a good story is because of the outfits! Britney doesn’t have the best wardrobe in the world and she has made some absolutely SHOCKING outfit decisions in the past. But that’s the best part!

XFactor has the tendency to help, erm “celebrities” revamp their wardrobe. Without Simon Cowell’s show would Tulisa ever be voted FHM’s sexiest woman? Would Kelly Rowland make a best dressed list? And would Dannii Minougue be seen as relevant in the entertainment world? No, no and NO!

I really hope Britney uses her wardrobe allowance wisely. I used to be a major fan so it actually upsets me that nowadays Britney cannot even be bothered to keep her eyebrows tidy…

My advice Brit darling, drop out the fetish style bondage dresses and go for things that accentuate your figure in a classier way. You can no longer get away with red leather catsuits and extreme belly flashing.

May Inspirations

I’m always looking for new styles and new ways to wear clothes. This summer I’ll be trying to step my “swagger” up a notch by introducing bold colours and cuts.

I need a capsule wardrobe for my holiday (Barcelona Baby!) as well as in general.

As they say, dress how you wish to be addressed!

Get The Look!

I am addicted to fashion magazines but I tend to take the features with a pinch of salt. In this month’s Glamour magazine they constructed a Best Dressed list…

I was NOT impressed. Kate Middleton was in the top 5, Kelly Rowland in the top 20 and Mila Kunis the top 40. None of the named celebrities should have been on the list at all in my opinion!
And the winner? The woman who gets to wear the crown of fashion icon of the year? Kristen Bloody Stewart. Pissed off? I think so!

Not once have I looked at Kristen and thought “I want that!”. Well so I thought. You see, once you actually research Kristen’s style, you start to notice how well she does dress.

The vampire girl may never be seen in Louboutin’s Daffolfils, or in a sugary sweet pastel suit, but she does dress well!

Look at her on the red carpet, she’s always projecting the newest cuts and materials and she’s ALWAYS flashing her luscious long legs.
Off duty, Kristen looks comfortable and gives off a nonchalent fashionista vibe even Chanel Iman would be jealous of.

The key to Kristen’s style is ease so always make sure you are as comfortable in you’re clothes as you are you’re skin.

[Top to Bottom]
Asos ponti notched collar blazer - £40
Zara waxed trousers - £39.99
Leather Converses - £55

STYLE TIP: Kristen wears alot of dark strong colours, if you fancy something brighter and more on trend, try teaming bold cut blazers with icecream shade hotpants or jeans.
Also, hi top converses are more flattering on our ankles and calves than low ones. I always wear my hi-tops with shorts or dresses for a more feminine look.

Music video of the week: Cheryl Cole - Call My Name

It’s no doubt that music and fashion go hand in hand and a good music video is usually accompanied with a strong, trend aware look.

Cheryl, who’s chosen to drop the Cole to revamp her career looks absolutely amazing in her new music video, call my name.

Sporting this seasons hottest fluro colour block shoes by Brian Atwood, Cheryl struts her stuff and does a sexy dance routine. The song itself is very blah, but who even cares when you’re watching the Geordie Princess pull off the tropical and leopard print clash.

The former WAG is known for her style and in 2010, over 60% of young British women said they would love to steal her wardrobe.

Ms Tweedy has definitely been a very influential fashion icon in the past. Remember when she dyed her hair red? Well red hair dye sold out in supermarkets nationwide just 5days after her cherry head debut!
Taking that into consideration, I predict a flurry of young girls congesting River Island to purchase anything with a printed pattern on it!

STYLE TIP: If the thought of clashing prints makes you all clammy and nervous don’t do it! This look is as much about confidence as it is style. Tone things down by adding nude and earthly tones. A tropical printed blazer would look great with a bandeau crop and disco or ski pants!

Up My Street : Jeffrey Campbell

jhanedoe:

Now my darling ladies, we’ve been hit with a shoe sensation known as Jeffrey Campbell! I first noticed these beauties here on Tumblr and I had to find the creator but one thing I realised is that all the girls were wearing the same ones. So today, i wanna show that are more to JC than the black spiked Lita’s, the plain Lita’s and the Night Walk.

Here is Jeffrey Campbell’s

Damsel Spiked Gold

FOXY WOOD

(One of my faves!!) RU 2

CUFFED

SMOOSH

My Oh My!

Kate Middleton literally shocked me on this one!
Most of us would say the Duchess of Cambridge looks rather demure, but compared to her usual conservative, LK Bennet/Karen Millen boring, butter wouldn’t melt style, the future Princess looks quite raunchy!

Arriving at the Claridge’s Hotel in London Mayfair, Kate flashed some serious leg - thigh even! in a floor length satin cream dress. Just to keep me gasping, Miss Middleton even wore the highly coveted Jimmy Choo vamp shoes with sexy deep red nail varnish on her pinkies.

Perhaps Kate is tired of Pipa getting all the attention and decided to switch things up a bit! I would love to see the Duchess in edgier attire, I mean this is the woman that put Alexander McQueen designer Sarah Burton on the map!

No more 3inch wedges please Kate! And would it be too much to ask to see some clevage every now and then?

Crazy for Crops!

I don’t know if it’s because we have had some good weather in London today but I am 100% in the mood for summer!

When the summer months approach us ladies tend to go mad at the gym, I am exhibit A. And quite frankly I wanna show off all my hard work in sexier clothing and what’s sexier than a flash of the midrif?

[Left to Right]
• New Look cropped utility shirt - £6
• Topshop slogan crop - £16
• Asos cropped top - £14

STYLE TIP: If your belly isn’t quite washboard-esque just yet then join me and wear your crop with something high waisted. This gives your outfit a cooler spin and can smarten up your crop!

Now I know i said Solange Knowles outshone her sister at the 2012 Met Ball, and I stand by my word…However, Beyoncè looks absolutely amazing!

Beyoncè drove the paparazzi wild in Givenchy Haute Couture and I’m sure we can all see why.

Us mere mortals must remember that Beyoncè gave birth only 5months ago!

Queen B is lucky enough to have regained her pre-pregnancy body and somehow keep her pregnancy glow. Her secret? Who knows but I am now on the quest for flawless glowing skin and an hourglass figure to rival errr..an hourglass!

Day Time Heels!

Right ladies, it’s no secret that we all look better with some extra height and in actual fact, in terms of heels, the higher is definitely the better!

BUT, who actually enjoys spending the whole day in heels? Not me that’s for sure.

I’ve spent the best part of 2 hours scouring the shops for sensible yet sexy day time heels and the 4 above are the best of the bunch.

Colour blocked sandals are absolutely huge this season and judging by the A/W 12 shows they will be sticking around.

Peep toes always make an outfit more summery and the burnt orange Steve Madden heels are perfect for both evening and day time.

STYLE TIP: Lower heels can be less flattering on calves! To avoid this, try wearing low heels with peg leg and cigarette trousers.

Well I’m back! And what better way to announce my return than with a super bright super hot Met Ball post!

Solange Knowles (right) looked absolutely stunning in this yellow floor length peplum. Her sister Beyoncè was also at the ball but for once the spotlight was firmly on Solange!

January Jones also wore a sexy yellow ball gown, hers with a with a peplum accent.

So it’s clear, yellow and peplums are crazy hot right now so grab them both!

STYLE TIP: Yellow suits most skin tones but if you are colour shy, go for yellow accesories such as bags and shoes. This will also have you at the top of the colour blocking leaderboard!

“The one’s beneath me recognise the red bottoms I wear”

It seems Chloe Green has had enough of all the lyrical references made to Christian Louboutin and is trying to establish her own coloured sole collection.

I’ve only seen the pair above and of course I am disappointed. If anyone is going to compete with King Louboutin, the range has to be truly spectacular, and quite frankly, these are not.

Why green? Well with red being obviously taken and blue trademarked by YSL, Chloe thought it would be awfully clever to paint her soles green, as that’s her last name and her middle name is also the grass hue, Jade. It also reminds us that she is daughter to mega high street mogule Phillip Green, and of course she wouldnt have such opportunities without Daddy dearest.

Green Jr claims her shoes will be “amazingly popular” because unlike Louboutins, her shoes have a starting price of £80. But being affordable doesn’t make them particularly desirable.

The range launches in Topshop stores nationwide next month. Out of curiousity I will pop down to Oxford Street to investigate. Surely her shoes can’t be so awful that curiousity kills the cat?

Celeb Watch: Rita Ora

After watching Rita’s new music video, [RIP ft Tinie Tempah], I have become quite obsessed with the beautiful Brit.
Her style oozes confidence and although many will copy it, few will pull it off.

However, there IS a way to drop Miss Ora’s street style your own way.

Gone are the days when a hoody meant you were running to the corner shop…or running on the treadmill. With the help of Rita Ora and other female celebrities, hoodies can now be oh so stylish and oh so cool.

Style Tips:
If you have long hair try leaving the hood down and adding a beanie hat for the full effect. Team with denim cut offs, a basic vest and your almost there. Add heels for a more catwalk fashion feel or trainers to follow Rita’s full look.

Short haired ladies can work this trend too! Just make sure you keep the outfit looking feminine by adding statement earrings and tighter fitting clothing. Wear the hood up or down and perhaps team with a bodycon skirt, fitted cropped vest and hi tops.

This is a fun trend that you can really play around with. I’m gonna create an outfit of the day with a hoody and post it on here, I would love to see how you guys wear yours too!

Trend Faux-Pas

Remember my floral print post? Well I actually braved it and got a pair of electric blue, fuschia and yellow flower bomb trousers.

Yikes?!!

In my defence they looked black based not blue AND also in my defence, I thought I’d look as cool as the hot mama above. I did not. I looked fat, frumpy and frightened.

I didn’t wear the trend, it wore me. It wore me badly! As soon as I put them on, I looked in the mirror, slipped them back off, put them back in the “original packaging” ready to ship ‘em back to Asos.

Moral if the story? Dress how YOU feel comfortable, not how magazines are telling you to, ‘coz when the shit hits the fan, Elle isn’t going to cover the delivery cost loss…

Flower Power!

Floral prints have been knockin’ about for a while and I’m sad to say that they’ll be sticking around for at least a year. I’m not a fan of print but what kind of fashionista (self proclaimed) would I be if I didn’t tackle the paisley and daisy phenomenon head on?!

As with all trends, you can wear them in a way you feel comfortable. For example, for me head to toe flower print would probably give me hayfever but if you’re bold enough (and slim enough) you can probably pull it off.

I’d wear flower print trousers with a leather or distressed denim jacket, a plain vest, bold accesories in a colour picked out from the trousers, pointy toe shoes and ray bans. I tend to toughen up girly pieces so I would totally feel comfortable in that!

Style Tip: Printed bottoms can exaggerate juicy pear shapes. If you want to avoid this, go for a floral shirt tucked into ankle grazers in a bold block colour instead.

OMG!!! Kim Kardashian gets flour bombed on the red carpet (Shout out to Wale) !!!

Apparently Kim Kardashian told her make up artist she needed more powder minutes before this fashion faux pas happened. A crazed err…”fan” greeted the sex tape star at the London hotel in West Hollywood with a bag of self-raising flour. Brilliant.

Kim K was promoting her new fragrance True Religion and according to my sources didn’t seem too fussed about the incident. Probably because she knows her fans are so up her well shaped derièr that they will probably see it as a fashion statement…
